Who we are

The address of our website is: https://timothy-speed.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string (this identifies the browser) to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded EXIF GPS location data. Visitors to the website could download images stored on this site and extract location information from them.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, this may be considered consent to store your name, email address and website in cookies. This is a convenience feature so that you do not need to re-enter all this information when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this website, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set several cookies to save your login information and your display options. Login cookies expire after two days and display-options cookies after one year. If you select “Stay logged in”, your login will be maintained for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies are deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and only refers to the post ID of the article you have just edited. The cookie expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts on this website may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the password reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. In this way we can automatically recognize and approve follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (usernames cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you can request an export of the personal data we hold about you, including all data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of all personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Where we send your data

Plugin: Smush

Note: Smush does not interact with end users on your website. The only input option Smush has is for a newsletter subscription for site admins only. If you would like to notify your users of this in your privacy policy, you can use the information below.

Smush sends images to the WPMU DEV servers to optimize them for web use. This includes the transfer of EXIF data. The EXIF data will either be stripped or returned as it is. It is not stored on the WPMU DEV servers.

Smush uses the Stackpath Content Delivery Network (CDN). Stackpath may store web log information of site visitors, including IPs, UA, referrer, location and ISP information of site visitors for 7 days. Files and images served by the CDN may be stored and served from countries other than your own. Stackpath’s privacy policy can be found here.

Smush uses a third-party email service (Drip) to send informational emails to the site administrator. The administrator’s email address is sent to Drip and a cookie is set by the service. Only administrator information is collected by Drip.
